LATINO AMERICAN DEMOCRATIC CLUB
MISSION STATEMENT
It is the mission of the Latino American Democratic Club to support citizens in making the transition from residence status to full citizenship and to assist in civic participation in affairs of the nation.
A. Discussed Club Goals Links
1. To assist persons who have met US residency requirements to attain full citizenship.
2. To increase voter registration among Latin Americans and minorities.
3. To integrate Latin American and minorities persons into civic activities.
4. To develop new leaders.
B. Discussed the need for plans to complete goals.
C. Discussed Web Site:
1. Web site needs to have mission statement and goals of club.
2. Develop the website to have links for information on how to obtain citizenship.
3. Have lists of why it is important to obtain citizenship and vote.
D. Develop list of needs of new citizens and how to fulfill those needs.
An example might be that people who are studying to become citizens need some child care services while attending classes.
The club could develop such a service or find such a service.
F. Outcomes of Meeting:
1. Develop goals and mission statements for website.
2. Develop website first and then work on outreach and projects.
